Virtual Reality
Technology forms every way and every day, especially in Entertainment sector. Once it was the subject of science fiction became true and it's developing. VR
is also sometimes called 'immersive multimedia,' as well as 'virtual environment (VE)' or 'computer-simulated life'.
Through a hardware and software, VR
can replicate an environment whether real or completely imaginary. The aim of the VR
creates a sensory experience sometimes include, touch, smell, hearing, sight and even taste. The user feels that could be in another world. VR
only recently started to develop for entertainment. It has been used for combat training before or Flight simulation. 44 percent of respondents in a 2015 Statista survey have stated they were “very interested” in this phenomenon.
We are very excited about this technology. It seems VR
in Australia will reach 25.5% by 2021. 2.3% of the homes in Australia have VR
today. It is developing slowly there.
Besides Australia, the American VR
industry is growing at a fast pace, with revenues from virtual reality products (both hardware and software) projected to increase from 90 million U.S. dollars in 2014 to 5.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2018. The number of active VR
users is forecast to reach 171 million by 2018. According to recent forecasts, revenue from virtual reality head-mounted displays is expected to grow from 685 million U.S. dollars in 2015 to 3.89 billion U.S. dollars in 2018.
This new form of entertainment can be found in a variety of prices, cheap VR
glasses and headsets to the more expensive ones float in the market now. This technology can connect to smartphones, computers or play consoles. I think in ten years we can see this technology develop more interesting versions. However, we might not have to wait that long.
