Eunoia

Eunoia Art Project Lisa Park

The woman who controls water with her thoughts. Don't think anything paranormal. Lisa Park is a conceptual artist who uses technology for this. She has been just experimenting a device called NeuroSky EEG headset.  Park used the EEG headset to monitor the delta, theta, alpha, and beta waves of her brain as well as eye movements and transformed the resulting data with specialised software into sound waves. Five speakers are located under shallow dishes of water which then vibrate in various patterns by her brain activity. She calls this performance art Eunoia. It means "beautiful thought" in Greek.

Park rehearsed a month to think about certain people. The artist later connected each of the five speakers with certain emotions: sadness, anger, hatred, desire, and happiness. She has expected a sort of zen-like mood resulting in complete quietness. However, it proved to be eventually unattainable, a result that is slightly poetic.
